  1. Cut chicken into bite-sized pieces and toss with Cajun seasoning in a plastic bag or covered bowl.

  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, sauté chicken in butter until almost tender. Add peppers and onion and sauté another 5 minutes.

  3. While the chicken and vegetables are cooking, prepare your pasta.

  4. Reduce the heat and add half and half, heavy cream, and seasonings. Bring to a simmer and simmer for 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat.

  5. Toss pasta with chicken and sauce. Top with parmesan and fresh basil.

Can this recipe be frozen?

I would not recommend freezing this recipe. The pasta and creamy sauce would not thaw out correctly. 

Can I make this with a protein other than chicken?

Yes! I've had success making this recipe with Italian sausage instead of chicken. The recipe could also be modified to use ground turkey. The consistency of the sauce would be different with a ground meat but still delicious!
