Ingredients

- Ground beef- I like to use 85/15
- Onion- any kind except red
- Extra-virgin olive oil
- Sugar- a little bit of sweetness balances the acidity in the sauce
- Garlic cloves
- Beef broth
- Spices and seasonings- Sea salt, black pepper, dried oregano, thyme, basil, crushed red pepper flakes
- Tomatoes- Crushed, diced and paste
How to Make Spaghetti Meat Sauce
Step 1: In a large pot over medium heat, heat oil. Add onions and sugar and cook until golden, approximately 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add ground beef and cook until fully cooked.


Step 2: Add garlic and cook until fragrant, approximately 1 minute. Add remaining ingredients and mix well.


Step 3: Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 1.5 hours, stirring occasionally.

Step 4: Serve over pasta. Top with parmesan and fresh basil if desired.

Storage
Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days. Freeze for up to 6 months.
